Morning, Pandas! Hope you've had a great past few weeks. I've been quite busy. You see, I broke down and got a job. "Broke" being the operative word, here. Free rewrites just don't pay the bills like they used to.
The job market here is pretty slim, so I had to go through a temp agency. I originally started part-time, but after one day they asked if I'd like full-time hours.
Years ago, I managed multimillion-dollar businesses, and I always hated going home with work. It was a minimum of a 55-hour work week, plus several hours at home working on employee schedules and whatnot. It was draining.
So when the temp agency looked at my qualifications and said that this job was beneath me, I told the lady, "I'm okay with that."
So far, I've been doing a lot of filing, copying, and filing. I don't mind it. I spend my time either filing in someone else's office, or sitting in a cubicle, where I sort out some of my projects for collating.
On Friday, they had me sending out anniversary cards for people, even though I insisted that I had horrible handwriting. I never had decent handwriting, and then I learned cursive Cyrillic... It was all downhill from there. My handwriting's never recovered.
I wrote out a sample of my handwriting. Boss declared it good enough, and said said that if I didn't care, she didn't care. I probably hand-wrote 75 anniversary cards. My hand started cramping after, oh, two.

Anyway, the job pays my bills, though I don't know for how long. And, it still gives me time to write. It's a stepping stone.
What's new with you?

That's awesome on your illustration business! I totally should have had you design my business logo! I just ordered business cards five minutes ago!
Oh, and the business called me tonight. Looks like my temp job was super temporary. The woman I was filling in for came back today.
grrr! don't they know you need some cash money. they'll set you up in another one super quick, though, right?
Hopefully, yes. I've never temped before, so I don't know how it'll take. Fingers crossed, tho!
My birthday is next month, you'd better start practicing my name now. Catherine. Ready go!
My birthday's coming up at the end of this month.
